New Years Resolutions

Talking to many friends and associates, I have found that New Years is scary to many.  People are thinking about failure.  Thinking about the horrible year they had.  Thinking about the many negative things they think will repeat.  I hear the many negative comments and I see depression.  What happen to the hope of a New Year?

I think the best thing about New Years is that you can make a new start.  You can stop in your tracks and change.  You can decide to do something or not.  You can set a goal or make a promise.  You can do something for yourself or others.  New Years is a chance to change direction.  Time to learn from the mistakes you have made. It is a time for hope.

When I asked my BBW associates about there New Year's Resolutions. I hear a common phrase,

I am going to lose weight... not like last year. I am going to lose the weight... then I will be a better person.

I then ask, do you believe losing weight will really make you a better person?  What is wrong with the person you are now?

Well I will be skinnier.

How does that make you a better person?  What does your weight have to do with who you are?

I didn't receive many answers back.  It made me sad that so many men and women are valuing there worth by there weight... in a negative way.  Why should I take it as a compliment when someone says. "You look like you lost weight."   Personally it took a lot of good food to make all these curves.  I am proud and I am not trying to lose weight.  Instantly people think if your Fat you must be trying to lose weight.

But this has nothing to do with weight.  It has to do with confidence and the false belief that you are better if you become what others want you to be.  This is about not realizing your worth as the person you are.  Weight or anything else will not make you a better person.  This is about valuing yourself by what you look like or appear to be.  Instead of your actions.

When I think about New Years and Hope and Resolutions.  I think about changing for the better.  Will losing weight make you a better if the inside is exactly the same?  There are many wonderful and not so wonderful BBW and BHM people who think that life will just fall into place when they lose some pounds.

You will not be a better mother or father.  You will not be a better friend.  You will not be smarter, or prettier, or any of the other things you might think.  If you have a bad attitude and treat people like shit.   Losing weight sure isn't going to fix that.

Losing weight is a personal choice every big person has to make.  I cant encourage anyone in either direction.  I am not saying to stay fat.  I am saying if for years your resolution has been to lose weight and your not successful, you either don't want to lose weight, or your feeling so bad about yourself that you cant make the push.

Maybe it is time to evaluate what you really want as far as happiness.  What really makes you the person you are other than weight.  When you feel good about who you are and what your doing.  Losing weight for health reasons or any other reason is much easier.  You have the security and confidence it takes to go for what you want.  Helping yourself from the inside out really makes a big difference.

You just have to make a choice.  What would you rather work on.  You or the shell you carry.  Personally I rather make over my soul because that is what I will be remembered for.

HAPPY NEW YEARS - Blessings to you all.

You keep doing what you're doing...

you'll keep getting what you're getting.

by  Jessa Moore

I hate the line "It doesn't matter what you look like on the outside, its what's on the inside that counts"... why do people say that? Are they afraid that all BBW's are so body conscience- do they expect that we are unhappy with the way we are?

Some people just don't understand that big can be beautiful. I feel beautiful. I love my curves, I love my shape, I love my look. It goes beyond a pretty face. When I run my hands on my body with my eyes closed I love what I feel. My soft plush skin, my luscious body. I love my shape. That's what people need to do. They need to release their prejudice, they need to let go of that "media image" and just close their eyes and run their hands over their body. It doesn't have to be a sexual thing, in fact, it's more of a therapeutic self love.

I'm a size 20, I've always been a big girl, I was a size 14 in high school, and yes, I did feel self conscience. I was fully developed at 13 and had the sexual energy that a woman would have mid life. I was picked on because of my size- I always thought it was because I was in fact fat, but I realized it was other people's inadequacy. I intimated a lot of people. I was never ashamed of what I looked like, I always took my time to look nice, I worked out, I did my hair and my makeup- people just didn't know how to take me in. I used to see the world through rose colored glasses, but you learn as time goes on, that our society can be really cruel. People didn't know how to be with me, because they thought I was fat, and they thought that I thought I was fat. Friends were always gentle with me- when they showed off their tummies, they'd apologize to me- if they wore little bikinis they'd blush and excuse themselves. They tried to be cautious as if I was jealous I couldn't fit into a size 4. And as if they felt sorry for me because they thought I wished I could.

I've imagined the prospects of being thin and trim- but I don't think I could accept myself that way. This is my body. This is the vessel that carries my spirit. Why can't I feel beautiful on the inside and out? There's beauty in size. There's an essence that a lot of people cannot grasp. If you love yourself, ALL of yourself, then you'll find a peace not a lot of people are so lucky to find. I'm not self conscious now, I don't think I should be. I have no reasons to apologize and have no reasons for people to apologize to me. If anything I should say "I'm sorry" to those that haven't found themselves.

I've had time to reflect, I've had time to think- I don't obsess over my body. I've improved who I am as a person by being fortunate enough to focus inward.

I have not allowed anything in this life to hold me back. My size has never gotten in way of my dreams or my goals. I'm doing everything that I want to do. There is nothing that I cannot accomplish. I don't dream to fit into those bikinis my friends always used to wear, because I wear them. I have no shame, I do not hate how I look. I love everything about myself. My love goes beyond my outer shell, it's my inner spirit. It's my intelligence, my compassion, sincerity, I've honed crafts, I've perfected everything I wanted to. I have never let weight limit me in my life, it is no obstacle for me, there are no hurdles. It's a shame that this society can't go any further than what you look like. When you pass someone in the street and you see them, you can't see inside of them. You have no idea if they are a writer, a painter, a pianist, a parent. You can assume so many things, but that's as far as it goes. When I walk down the street I have no concern if people are judging me. I'm proud of who I am and WHAT I am. I'm proud of how far I've come in this life. I'm proud of the choices I've made, and the goals I've accomplished.

BBW's embody more than the human spirit, but the heart and the soul. We're a breed all our own, and I'm grateful that everyone else out there that can relate has found that beautiful self love.

You keep doing what you're doing...you'll keep getting what you're getting.

NOTE: The Opinion of Raqui  is just that. I do not claim to be professional or to solve your problems.  I can however give you a real answer that may help you out.

Ask Raqui

Q:  Raqui I heard you are a widow.  I recently lost my FiancÚ.  She was one of the most wonderful, beautiful women I have known.  I feel like I will never get over the loss and I am scared that even if I do.  No one will love me like she did.  I am a Very Big Man, I was lucky enough to find her.

LOST

Raqui: Lost.. I am very sorry that your going through such pain.  Mourning will take time and you never really get over it.  You will love her forever.  But I have found out that our heart is so marvelous.  You can love so many people strongly for so many different reasons.  You can love your FiancÚ forever and still have room to love another. Just give yourself time to see that.  Live life and continue, let time and tears pass.

Being a Big Man will not stop others from loving you.  My mother told me once that when my husband died she didn't think I would ever find another man.  Yet every time I turned around she was amazed by the men who looked at me and wanted to pursue me.  There are many women who are looking for a big teddy to cuddle.  Just allow yourself the time to heal so that your available to love again.

Q:   I would like to stick with my resolution of trying to lose some weight but I don't want my man, who's an FA, to not find me attractive anymore...what do I do?

Sheila from Michigan
Raqui: Talk to you man,  If he is loving you only because your fat.  Then he is not LOVING YOU.  I know that as a big woman we want a man who loves all of us.  But if anything should arise and we need to lose weight or have lost weight the love shouldn't change.  That would apply to a skinny woman getting fat, or to any person getting into an accident.  True Love doesn't see weight it sees hearts and will appreciate you even a size smaller.

Q:  Hi I am a young guy.  I like big girls and I have never dated any.  I am ready to date the type of girls I like cause I'm tired of being with girls who are not all I want.  My question is, is sex with a bigger girl a lot different.  I want to be ready to make my girlfriend happy when I find one.  I am curious.

Ready 4 Big Girls

Raqui:  The difference is that everything is bigger and has more meat.  Big girls even the biggest have fulfilling sexual lives.  If your dealing with very big women just move the fat around a bit and remember to use a strong back LOL.

For real relax and enjoy the women and when your ready explore and try different things with her body.  Love her in all ways and appreciate all she is.

About the Product

Recommender: Raqui

Name of Product: Digital Electronic Scale by Scale-it

Type of Product: Scale that can weigh up to 1,000 pounds

Cost of Product: 169.00 US dollars

Where Product can be found: www.scale-it.com

Why I like this Product: I not only like this scale, I like that it is
heavy duty and can weight the heaviest big person. I like that
this site has many other more affordable scales for those who
weigh less. It may be a bit pricy but if you need to keep track of
your weight and you are quite heavy. This would be a good
investment.
