Raqui-ism -  Raqui Bringing them HELL in 2012!

Written By: Raqui

Itís 2012: I'm not making a resolution, nor a promise with false lips. I am making and Oath and living with a Motto. Raqui is bringing them HELL in 2012!
I will not curb my speech... I wonít change my mind. I wonít live life for another person... nor will I put anything on hold, not even the words that escape my lips. I have a positive spirit why shouldn't I share it?
Why second guess myself? When I had to make a good decision for me I LEAPT IN... I JUMPED... I CLEARED obstacles that I never thought I could. Before I CARED to much... I LOVED to much... I CRIED too much. No one cared and when the pot came to boil... and the water was getting low... No one rejuvenated me... No one filled me back up... even though I filled them up on the regular. They let my pot burn lower and lower until I felt the heat and I wanted to DIE because I couldn't understand... WHY did you have to be like that? Just when I thought i would lose my mind... I knocked myself over and ran from the bleakness that was my existence and I started A NEW!
SO BACK UP... BACK DOWN... Get out my way because I am Bringing them HELL IN 2012 and I am living it, RIDING IT TILL THE DAMN WHEELS FALL OFF and I GROW FARTHER BRIGHTER THAN THE STARS IN HEAVEN! MY MIND CLEAR... UNCLUTTERED.. Nothing left to say... Don't ask a question that you donít want an answer to!
100% HONESTY, UNADULTERATED RAQUI all day all Year! I'M BRINGING THEM HELL IN 2012 will you join me?

Now some words from my Facebook Peeps:  Thoughts for 2012

Kristi Michele

can honestly say that this year changed my life. Reflecting back on my many blessings and looking forward to new beginnings. ? Happy New Year.

Stacey 'Ena' Williams

To see 2012 be a year we overcome animal abuse, animal fighting for sport, the closing of kill shelters, and the end of puppy mill pups and their sale in pet stores worldwide and in place rescue animals. To stop inhumane slaughter and better conditions for produce only animals whether for meat or dairy even eggs at market. My 2012 is all about forever homes for our furry, feathered and scaly friends and simply better conditions entirely.

Frannie Zellman

Just hoping 2012 is better than 2011..

Jean Clement

Happy New Year to everyone. I hope 2012 brings health, happiness and peace to my family and friends. God Bless us all in the new year.....Jean

Leslie Brooks To be more financially responsible; enjoy spending more time with my mom and just be more happy

Bella Esther

?2012 here I come! Leaving 2011 in my rear view mirror, but keeping the lessons learned in my back seat!

Gina ItsaNew-Day Carter

Happy New Year, my friends! Another year, another year of wonderful moments! I cherish them and YOU all! I will be enjoying a quiet celebration, but in my heart I'll be celebrating with every one of you - beginning with my friends in Sweden, onto England, then as the time zones cross the states - wheeeee!! 2012 gonna be a GOOD YEAR!! CHEERS!!!!

Trina Biggirlsdoitbest Greene

Iam MizLiz

I am so blessed for ALL that is gifted to me... My little ones, my Love and my health. How can I not feel guilty for having so much?

Time to soul search, conclude, accept and forgive as best as my being will let me. I couldn't get this far without my Best Friend and Love... I've been waiting for him for far too long.

I Love You Babe!

Tanesha Dewberry

This year has been really unpredictable for everyone....My thoughts for 2011 is to be more aware of whats going on in the world. Keep your family and love ones close and forgive anyone that has ever done anything for you! Take no grudges in 2012...

Johnny J Martin Jr.'s a few thoughts I had...

To get out there and truly live....To improve the quality of my life through exercise (which I hate, but it must be done..) To get all financial affairs in order, but at the same time, to not be afraid to spend a little extra for quality when it's needed...To seek the company of good people, so that it's easier to deal with the bad ones, cause they always show up.

ClubCatalina Bbwnightclub

Wake up every day with a positive attitude and when the world sees you smiling than the world will smile back at you.. you know what they say about a smile, it's contagious and that's one thing I would love to catch every day for the rest of my life :)

Jolene K Morgan

My thoughts for 2012 are to love and laugh and live as though everyday were my last. It is 2012 after all ;)

Misty Blue

I am thankful for family that got me through some really rough times in life I thankful for the friends that never turned their backs on me I am also thankful for the new friends I made and also for finding love again someone that accepts me for who I am and not trying to change me to who they want me to be

My Bag of Hope

by Xander The Food Dude

My job forces me to see the pain that others suffer through on a daily basis.  I see it all levels.  It can be physical, emotional, intellectual, or any other of a host of hurts.  At this time of year, even in a time of short supplies, there are those people who involve themselves in helping others.  However, there are those who unselfishly engage in the activity of helping others all year long.  One of these groups is one that is near and dear to my heart.

There is a local group of ladies who make duffle bags for the children in our Department of Childrenís Services.  Each bag is filled with toys, necessities, and a handmade quilt.  When we get children who have to come into the office and stay for a while waiting for placement, they are given one of these bags.  They come designed for different aged children, however the effect is quite similar.  Picture a child having been neglected or abused being brought in the office.  A little face with the dried path of where tears had been are evident on a downturned face.  A little soul who should never been harmed in such a way.  Even worse still, that mind in the child blaming themselves for having been assaulted.  There is no hope.  They are taken to a cubicle where the sit quietly, scared, and alone.  Despite the abuse they have received, they only want to go back home at this point.  Again, they blame themselves.  They repeat over and over again, Iíll be good, I promise,Ö.. I promise.  They have no hope. They have nothing except the clothes they are wearing.

A bag is presented to them, being told that this is theirs to keep.  The are scared to touch it.  Older hands help open the bag revealing the first of a few treasures in the bag.  More often then not it is a stuffed animal.  Slowly it is taken.  Then it is hugged tightly as one would hold a shield to protect themselves from attack.  A few more toys, crayons, coloring book.  The child eyes open wider, their head raises slightly.  At last the biggest item, a handmade quilt.  They take the quilt and put their face into it.  They hide from this world that had treated them so terribly.  It almost seems as though they were given the opportunity, the would stay there for and eternity, protected from all the pain they feel.

Suddenly and slowly, the child becomes more than the pain they feel.  Even if for a moment only they feel normal.  In that moment, if you pay attention you can almost make out the beginning of a light in that childís eyes. There is an ember of hope.

Of the many times I have seen this happen it always strikes me as though a miracle had happen.

I donít mean to insinuate that the child doesnít have hard times ahead, but in facing those they have a shield and safe area.  One bag of items.  It doesnít seem like much but its enough to keep hope alive, even if just from moment to moment.  I hope you holiday season is filled with hope and love.  Remember to look for the miracles that happen all year long, not just during the season.

Peace and Love to all of you.

Xander's Recipe of the Month

1.   Place the ham bone into a large pot and fill with enough water to cover. Bring to a boil and cook for 15 minutes. In 2007, Sonya was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes; a generational curse that she had prayed to avoid, but didnít worry about while she piled butter pecan ice cream on her German Chocolate Cake.    Only a few months into this diagnosis, she woke up one morning unable to walk and in excruciating pain in her left foot.  Doctors finally diagnosed an acute tendonitis, exacerbated by uncontrolled diabetes.

That was the wake-up call, She had suffered for years with high cholesterol and sleep apnea; all associated with her weight,  it wasnít until this happened (wheelchair bound for a month and on crutches following that) did she tell herself "I have to do something about my weight."  On April 17, 2008, Sonya had the gastric bypass medical weight loss procedure and it was the best decision that she made for herself.  In these upcoming writings, Sonya invites you to learn the ups and downs of gastric bypass: through the eyes of one who lives it every day.

Now Sharing her story Angie Bee  (Sonya's Sister) is sharing her Similar but entirely Unique Story with LargeInCharge Readers through Sonya's Column.
Angie Bee - Too Busy for Me? Not THIS Christmas!
with Sonya Bennett & Angie Bee

I was driving to yet another Christmas event, stuck in traffic and wishing I had slept in longer.  As an event planner and promoter it makes sense to get to the event early in order to greet everyone.  Even if it means that I'm there all day.  "Why do I do this to myself?", I wondered.

Then, I took a look in the rear view mirror and smiled at myself.  I even whipped out my camera phone as I stopped at the red light.  "I look great today!  I SHOULD be out enjoying the season and spending Christmas the way I WANT to spend it!"

The holidays can sometimes make us feel as if we owe something to the world.  "I just GOTTA get a gift for everyone on my list!" and "this person has been good to me this year, so I gotta get them something BIG!"  Christmas is the time for giving, and we give our time volunteering and doing more at school, church and at work (gotta earn that Christmas Bonus!)  Christmas brings the start of the end of the year and we find ourselves doing even more during Christmas than we have ever done all year long!  Are we really in charge of the Christmas holiday, or is it in charge of us?

More people look at the holidays as a time to splurge.  You travel to go see family, you go into debt decorating the house and you stay in relationships that you need to end because you want that last gift!  Financial analysts have reported that this Christmas, credit card spending is up; yet they anticipate a crash in February when those loan payments become past due.  I pray this isn't true.  Is getting in debt really worth it?

One of my relatives complains all year about how hard she works.  She works one full time job during the week, another part time job on Saturdays and even a third "seasonal" gig.  By the time Christmas comes, she is exhausted and everyone around her feels her pain.  I feel so badly that she works so hard that I don't even WANT to receive a gift from her at Christmas!  She is so stressed during the year that all I want from her is to see her more in charge of her time and enjoying her life!

I raised two daughters during my lifetime.  My "baby" will be 19 years old in March.  Years ago I was faced with not spending Christmas with my children as I shared visitation with their father.  I remember that first lonely Christmas.  I was happy that my children were being lavished with gifts by their family and if was a nice break not to have to cook and clean and chauffeur kids to and from school... but my greatest gift was knowing that my family gathered around me to keep me encouraged and to make me feel loved.  My sisters and parents and grandparents loved on me... not with expensive gifts but with the encouragement that I needed.  They let me know then, and every year since that they will always be there for me!

Through unemployment, disability, illness and despair I can say that my greatest Christmas gift has been that I have always had the grace of God and my family by my side.  Even when I was suicidal and temporarily was not in charge of my life, I could feel goodness and mercy all around.  I know that people lavished me with gifts during my trials... but I honestly can't remember what one of those wrapped items where.  What I do remember is the love and fellowship that every Christmas brought my way... and I pray that YOU feel the same this Christmas day.

Merry Christmas and have a Safe and Happy New Year!

Facebook Changed my Life...

with Pat Llewellyn

Facebook changed my lifeÖ

Let me explain. As most fatties do, I had struggled with my weight all my life. I had been taught to hate my fat body and strive to be thin at all costs. Needless to say, I failed at loosing weight miserably. I would loose the weight and then gain it back.  In 2007 I was a few years away from turning 40 and I was tired of hating my body.

Like many people, my first glance into the subculture of BBWís and FAís was the on CSI episode where they featured the Vegas BBW Bash. I wasnít ready to do anything with that information yet, but I kept the information filed away in my brain.

A few years later after the death of my mother and a failed engagement I was ready to shake up my world. I didnít know what I wanted, but I knew I wanted more. At this point I had discovered Facebook and started to reconnect with people from my past. One of these people had a link to a Toronto group that was for plus size women and their admirers.

I joined the online community/bulletin board and eased my way into the community. After 2 months of chatting and having my interest piqued, the time to put up or shut up came. The first BBW event since I joined the board was happening.  I had never met any of the people on the board in person and I was nervous.

I booked a hotel room and bought a ticket and announced my intentions to attend the event alone. Thankfully someone took pity on my and invited me to stay in her hotel room with her. I cancelled the room that I booked, packed up my stuff for the night, drove to Toronto and patiently waited for my roomie @ the hotel.  I met so many people that night and had so much fun.

Iím not going to lie and tell you that my life has been a bed of roses since that night, but in the 3+ years since then I have made some fabulous friends, gone to several mini bashes and I am going to my 3rd BBW Las Vegas Bash this year. Most importantly, I have learned to love the body I have.

Same Shit... Different Date

with Ms Suga

So the New Years is past and gone. The ball has dropped, champagne bottles have popped and resolutions have been set into play. Now what? What are you going to do to stand out from the rest?

Think about it...Yeah it's the beginning of a new year but what makes this year so special? Hell... What makes today so special? Think about it like this "Today is the first day of the rest of your life"... heard that before? Well it fits.

Let me ask you this: are you going to follow the 3C's and make a choice to take a chance to get a change? Or are you gonna do the same shit you been doing?

They say the definition of insane is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome. So what are you gonna do? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that everyone wants better for themselves but how can one tell who is willing to do what it takes  to make a change? Or are you gonna to continue the mundane journey of going insane?

I can only speak for myself and Ms. Suga has a few changes under her belt that were in motion way before the holidays started. Contrary to what some may think (and what I may tell you) Ms. Suga in all her beautiful wonderful BIG essence isn't perfect. But donít you dare repeat that! You may wonder why I started so "early" with my resolutions but you must realize that change doesn't happen overnight.  One cannot expect your mindset and routines to change just because the date does. We all have to put in the work to see the results.

So that resolution to lose weight may not happen in the first three weeks of the will take time to accomplish your goal. But just make sure you are doing it the right way. Incorporate life changes to make your goals more realistic. First you have to set minor reachable goals in order to even see the giant nearly impossible ones.

It's time to push those mediocre ways out the window and climb the ladder to success. Remember the only person you have control over is yourself. So if you have to cuss self out to get the fire lit under your ass...DO IT!!! If you have to look in the mirror and finally have that realization that change comes from with in...DO IT!

Now I don't encourage you to do any life changes alone. We all need a partner to help push us and suffer with us and celebrate with us when life begins to change. But whatever it takes to get your gears moving make it happen. I encourage you to think differently, work harder and work smarter. The revolution has to start somewhere it might as well start in you.

So the New Years is past and gone. The ball has dropped, champagne bottles have popped and resolutions have been set into play. Now what? Are you jumping on the train of progress or are you standing at the corner of Same shit, different date?

Ask Yourself This Question

with Gabriela Falarz

Weíve all had those feelings of emptiness that we donít want to deal with. A lot of us get them in front of the TV at night, when the responsibilities of the day have been dealt with and we finally get a chance to sit quietly and relax our minds. A lot of us donít even know we are empty. All we know is that this feeling is unpleasant and we need to dull it or escape it somehow. Some people use alcohol; others use drugs; some use sex; and other people (I am one of them) use food.

I have no doubt that I am the weight I am today because of emotional eating. If I wasnít prone to it, I know in my heart that I would not be as heavy as I am today. I would probably be at least somewhat chunky, because all the women in my family have large body types; but I donít think I would be as large as I am now if it werenít due to emotional eating.

Thankfully, I have come to the point where I donít hate myself for my weight. I donít hate myself for my emotional eating either. I know that my weight has nothing to do with who I am as a person, or all the great things I am capable of. But I do know that this propensity doesnít serve me well.

I think the feeling all emotional eaters are trying to escape is a feeling of wanting. We want something we canít have or something that has been denied to us in some way. It feels like this want is so deep that it almost feels like it will eat us up. Isnít that ironic? So we eat to fill that deep hole.

A lot of us think that wants are actually needs Ö but theyíre not. There is only one thing you really need: YOU. Certainly, other things are important Ė our families, our jobs, our homes, for example. But when it comes down to it Ö if all those things were taken away from you, would you cease to exist? You might be in a lot of pain about losing those things, but you would still be HERE. Right here, right now Ö breathing, walking, and talking.

This might sound like metaphysical nonsense, but if you really think about it, I think you will agree that you are all you really need. If you want something that you donít have Ö itís okay. Itís not wrong to want something and try to get it. But if it eludes you (and it usually feels like itís no matter how hard you try) Ö ITíS OKAY.

It could be that you are not meant to have what you think you want for a very good reason. Maybe your higher self is telling you that itís really not good for you at all Ö you just donít know it yet. Maybe it is protecting you.

The worst thing we can do when we feel pain is to dull it so that we can ignore it. We need to feel it and experience it before it can heal. If you are chopping vegetables in the kitchen and accidentally cut yourself with the knife, it hurts like hell for awhile. It throbs and aches Ö but because you are not blocking it and you know that it will heal through its own miraculous process, the pain starts to recede and go away. You donít even notice it anymore. Pretty soon, it has healed. There might not even be a scar.

This is what we need to do when we feel those wants. We need to resist reaching for something to try and dull those wants, because itís only through feeling them that we realize weíll be okay without them.

10 Top Reasons to go Running from Dating a Man Today!

with Kathy Hernandez

10 top reasons to go RUNNING from dating a man today

1.  He's too aggressive and wants to get your number by asking you over and over again for your number, than finally gives you his like it's a gift from above.   These are the men who when you keep on politely saying no thank you will turn the talk on you from oh baby you are so beautiful, I just want to get to know you better to, you're a ugly fat bitch when they are rejected.

2.  He's looking at you like you are carne asada fresh off the grill and you aren't the only one he's looking at with hungry eyes.  He's imagining  you naked or taking off your clothes piece by piece with his eyes, looking you up and down and taking his time when he gets to your breasts, booty and legs.  MMMHHMMMMMM baby girl and licking his lips is disrespectful and not the quality man you want in your life.   There's an appropriate amount of looking but there is absolutely no right way to stare at a lady.

3.  You tell him you have a man in your life, boy friend or husband and he STILL is asking for your number and saying he wants to get to know you...  REALLY????  Can we get some morals and keep those feet moving in any direction but mine.  This the man who is someone else's man and is always going to be on the prowl.

4.  Men who ask you for money and you haven't been dating long.  Women have come a long way today in being educated, having careers and making a good living for ourselves.  It's not our responsibility to give men we are dating money and especially not for things they don't need and merely want.  Take a look at your forehead and if it doesn't say Bank of America than let them know the sign isn't there either and they will need to make a withdrawal elsewhere.

5.  His hygiene and the lack of concern for the way he dresses shows a lot about a guy.  This is the EFFORT he is put to looking good in his mind and out in public so you shouldn't walk past this man and smell body odor, bad breath and dirty clothes on his body.   Why would anyone go out trying to introduce himself to a lady looking like he just got out of bed and hit the street?   Dress like a man with nice clothes and not like a gangster or someone who just got out of high school where it was cool to just wear jeans and a t shirt EVERY day.   The man who is constantly scratching and re arranging his genitals is sending you a very loud message that says  " I am not clean, I may have a STD"  RUN girl run!!!

6.  Men who want to tell you about how great they are in bed and what they want to do to you in bed. Why is it that these type of  men feel the need to tell you that they love giving oral when they first meet you???  I was at a night club a few years ago and this hot guy came up to me and started a conversation and within 3 minutes it came out.   I asked him if he danced and he responded no but I love to eat pussy.   I just looked at him like fawking really????  There was a long period of silence and he said that's it?  you aren't talking to me any more?  I said ya I'm done here,  you have a great evening.  Also we don't need to know how well endowed you are until we have decided we like you enough to get naked with you so save that little mystery for later.

7.  Men who talk about how much money they make to impress you.  I don't know about you but I don't want to be bought and I don't want to hear about how much better you think you are because you have more money the the Average Joe does.  Word of caution ladies, these are the same men that most times don't have two nickels to rub together but want you to THINK that they do so you will be more attracted to them..  Honey if that is all you have going on than again start walking in any direction but mine because I'm so turned off at this point nothing could have me even interested in your name.

8.  Men who talk about their ex's constantly and on a daily basis.   This means a few different things to me, one is they aren't over their ex they are not ready to move on with anyone else until they get some intensive therapy.   There's the men who whine about their ex and than there are the ones who say if they could get away with it they would do something to the ex that essentially says no one would ever find the body.

9.  Men who tell you they think you are cheating on them, lying to them, and constantly checking up on you when you aren't doing any of the above.  Usually this means that the man is doing all these things and figures if he is than you are or tries to throw you off track when you start seeing the signs that he is cheating so he tries to turn the tables on you and says it's YOU who is cheating on ME!!  Trust and honesty is a core component to a long lasting and successful relationship and if it's not there from the beginning it most likely won't be there later.

10.   This is for a BBW Magazine so I wanted to add a few things to look out for when dating men when you are a full size woman.   I have found in my past that men who don't have a type and who will date anyone do not really like BBW's and if I'm not your type than why would I want you to date me?  I have dated men in the past who find me attractive, like my personality, have a great time with me but in the end have all asked me to lose weight because they like smaller women.   I make sure before I have more than 3 dates that I ask the man if BBW's are his type and if his response is he dates all shapes and sizes than I take that as a no and move on to someone who looks at big girls and drools but if he sees a thinner girl doesn't give her a second look.

I'm sure while you have been reading this article you have been nodding your head at most of these signs and know for the most part that these are men to stay away from.  I also want to point out that we do subconsciously know when something just doesn't feel right and we don't need a specific reason to back away from any man.   Also when you are so close to something you can't see what is really and truly in front of you, your girl friends are the ones who are going to tell you what they are seeing and you should seriously listen to them because they are there for you always.
